  • Oct.1937   Asahi Diamond Industrial Co., Ltd. founded in Tokyo’s Shinagawa Ward for manufacturing and        marketing diamond tools.

  • June. 1938  Construction of Yukigaya Factory in Ota Ward, Tokyo, begins

​

  • Jan.1944   Ueno Factory (formerly Mie Factory) completed in Ueno City (now Iga City), Mie Prefecture,                               launching diamond die sales.

​

  • Dec.1945  Corporate name changed to Asahi Kogei

​

  • May 1950  Head office moves to Chuo Ward, Tokyo

​

  • Jan.1951   Diamond bit sales launched.

​

  • Apr.1952   Diamond wheel sales launched.

​

  • May. 1952    Corporate name changed back to Asahi Diamond Industrial

​

  • Feb.1953   Electroplated tool sales launched.

​

  • Oct.1955   Setagaya Factory completed in Ikejiri, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, to expand diamond bit                                         production.

  • May.1956     Diamond blade sales launched.

​

  • Apr.1961   Vitrified bond wheel sales launched

​

  • Aug.1961  ID blade sales launched

​

  • Sept.1965    Tamagawa Factory completed in Takatsu Ward, Kawasaki City, launching rotary dresser sales

  • May 1968  Joint venture Taiwan Diamond Industrial Co., Ltd. (now Taiwan Asahi Diamond Industrial Co.,                             Ltd.) founded in Taiwan

​

  • Apr.1969   CBN abrasive powder sales launched

​

  • Sept.1972  Participation in Sun Diamond Kogyo (now Yamanashi Asahi Diamond Industrial Co., Ltd.)

  • Oct.1972   Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange

  • Feb.1975  Head office moves to Minato Ward, Tokyo

  • July 1976  Diamond jewelry sales launched

​

  • May 1978  Shinhan Diamond Industrial Co. founded as joint venture in South Korea

  • Sept.1978    Listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange

  • Apr.1980   TAB tool sales launched

  • Aug.1984  Mie Daini Factory completed in Ueno City (now Iga City), Mie Prefecture

  • Mar.1989   Chiba Tsurumai Factory and Research and Development Center completed in Ichihara City,                               Chiba Prefecture

  • June. 1989   Wire saw sales launched

  • Sept.1992  Asahi Diamond Industrial wins the first TSE-listed company award

  • June. 1995   Chiba Tsurumai Factory acquires ISO9002 certification

  • Sept.1995    Asahi Diamond Industrial wins the fourth TSE-listed company award

  • Dec.1995  Mie Factory, Mie No. 2 Factory, and Tamagawa Factory acquire ISO9002 certification

  • Mar.1999   Chiba No. 2 Factory completed in Chosei County, Chiba Prefecture

​

  • June. 2001  Second building of Chiba No. 2 Factory completed

​

  • July. 2002    Asahi Diamond America, Inc. founded

​

  • July. 2002    Shanghai Xu Hui Diamond Industrial Co., Ltd. founded.

  • July. 2002    Asahi Diamond Industrial acquires all shares in PT. Asahi Diamond Industrial Indonesia

  • Jan.2004   All factories in Japan, Yamanashi Asahi Diamond Industrial Co., Ltd., etc. acquire ISO14001        certification

  • June. 2006  New Mie Factory completed in Iga City, Mie Prefecture, to integrate Mie and Mie No. 2 Factories

  • July. 2006    Hagby-Asahi AB sold to Sandvik AB

  • Aug.2006  Tamagawa Plant expansion completed

 

  • June. 2009  Phase 3 building completed at Chiba No. 2 Factory
